Privacy policy
Trust, credibility and a
reputation for honesty are among an organisation's
most valuable assets in the relatively faceless online
world.
Privacy is a basic human right
and we guarantee that any information you divulge to
us is kept in strict confidence.
We do not provide - ie share, sell or
rent - this information to anyone without your
permission. That's a promise.
We are committed to protecting your privacy.
We will only use the information that we collect about
you lawfully.
We collect information about you for
two reasons - to process your order and to provide you
with the best possible service.
We will not email you in the future unless
you have given us your consent.
The type of information we will collect
about you includes
- your name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- country
We will never collect sensitive information
about you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate
and up to date. You can check the information we hold
about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies
we will delete or correct it promptly.
The personal information we hold will
be held securely in accordance with our internal security
policy and the law.

Cookies
We may use technology to track the patterns
of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include
using a "cookie" which would be stored on
your browser. You can usually modify your browser to
prevent this happening. The information collected in
this way can be used to identify you unless you modify
your browser settings.
Server statistics
Our site logs information about you that
is automatically recognised by our Internet Service
Provider's web server (eg your IP address, browser type).
Your IP address is used to gather broad demographic
information to help us analyse web traffic (eg measure
the number of visitors to our site and the most popular
pages). The information is also used for technical administration
of the site as well as research and development of new
services. Email addresses and other personally identifiable
information are not available to us.
Online jobs registration form
Our site's online jobs database has a
registration form requiring users to provide contact
information (eg name and email address) and job-related
information (eg skills, fees, hours). Your contact information
is used to contact you when necessary. Other job-related
information provided to us is posted on the site to
enable you to find an employee or employment. You can
edit your details at any time.
External links
This site, in particular the surf club
site reviews section, contains many links to other sites.
brizcomm is not responsible for the privacy practices
or the content of such sites.
Email links
In various places on our site, you'll
find links for sending us an email message. We use your
email address to send you a reply and we will retain
your message only for later referral should you decide
to contact us again. Your message and email address
remain confidential unless you specifically give us
permission otherwise.
Email newsletter
We make available an opt-in email newsletter.
Subscription to our newsletter is optional and requires
your consent. You may unsubscribe at any time via the
link in the newsletter or by emailing yvette@brizcomm.com.au
Order/booking form
Our site uses order/booking forms for
you to request products and services. We collect your
contact information (eg email address, phone number)
to contact you in case of changes to product or event
details (eg date, time, venue). Any other information
we collect (eg job title) is used as research and to
help develop future services.
Secure payment
Our site includes a link to a third-party
provider - www.paymate.com.au - for secure online payments
and direct deposits. Your credit card and bank account
details are not displayed to brizcomm. All online financial
transactions with brizcomm are undertaken via the Paymate
service. Paymate use several mechanisms to protect the
security and integrity of your personal information,
including using the financial industry's Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) standards with 128-bit encryption. You should
check that your browser is compatible with SSL encryption.
This is often indicated by a 'closed lock' icon at the
bottom of your screen.
Paymate transfers financial data securely
into the Australian payments clearing system via dedicated
telecommunications lines and proprietary banking software
to ensure the integrity of its direct debit and credit
payments. Credit card payments are processed similarly.
Paymate employs qualified, independent
auditors to review its security standards and practices
on a regular basis to ensure that its software, operational
practices and management controls meet the stringent
standards of the Australian financial industry.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over
the Internet can be guaranteed as completely secure.
So while Paymate strives to protect such information,
it cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information
you transmit and you do so at your own risk. Once your
personal information comes into Paymate's possession,
they will take reasonable steps to protect that information
from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification
or disclosure.
Online surveys
Our online surveys will ask for contact
information (eg email address) to contact you when necessary
(eg if you win a prize). Any other information collected
(eg job title) is used for research to help improve
and develop services.
Public forums
A chat room, message boards or web logs
may be available to brizcomm visitors. Please remember
that any information disclosed in these areas becomes
public information - you should exercise caution when
deciding to disclose your personal information.
Information security
This site has security measures in place
to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information
under our control. Only authorised employees have access
to the information you provide us. We have implemented
technology and security policies, rules and measures
to protect the personal data under our control from
unauthorised access, improper use, alteration, unlawful
or accidental destruction and loss. We will continue
to enhance our security procedures as new technology
becomes available.
User ID
You are ultimately responsible for the
security of your brizcomm subscriber log in and password.
Please take care when using and storing them - do not
divulge your password to anyone. You should log out
of your browser at the end of each computer session
to ensure others can't access your personal information
and correspondence, especially if you share a computer
or use a computer in a public place (eg library or Internet
café).
Children
Our site does not contain offensive or
physically dangerous information. We are not responsible
for the content on any other sites we may link to. Parents
and guardians should educate themselves and their children
in online safety and privacy.
